I like books that aren’t just lovely but that have memories in themselves. Just like playing a song, picking up a book again that has memories can take you back to another place or another time.
What is book burning?
Book burning refers to the ritual destruction by fire of books or other written materials. Usually carried out in a public context, the burning of books represents an element of censorship and usually proceeds from a cultural, religious, or political opposition to the materials in question.
There are books out there; important books because they cover and focus on social and political topics; hushed up topics nobody really talks about although everyone S H O U L D talk about them. And then there are other books, those that are well-written, emotional and just wonderful – books you can’t put down; books that are there to entertain us; to distract us from real life and to bring us some fun hours of reading. They don’t cover important issues but they are just really really good. And sometimes you find a book that is both important and so really good that you’re unable to put it down. The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas is one of those books.
First off I’ve never read the comics, I haven’t even heard of Riverdale until the show premiered on Netflix. It sounded great though and after a friend of mine kept raving about it and telling me how good this show was I watched the first episode and fell in love with this show and its characters immediately. I’ve become quite obsessed with Riverdale since; I think I’ve rewatched every episode at least twice so of course I had to check out the comics as well. I didn’t know that Road to Riverdale actually wasn’t the original comic which is why I already ordered the original first Archie comic yesterday and I cannot wait to read it. But even though Road to Riverdale was different than I expected I quite enjoyed it.
