NEW VIDEO UP ON MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL
Let’s start off with saying that I have way too many OTPs. Of course there are some that I love more than others; some that I ship harder than others and they aren’t all from books but gosh, when I wrote down the list of my favorite OTPs I ended up having a list of like – I don’t know – 20 or even more couples from TV, movies and books and let me tell you, it was the hardest thing ever to choose only 10.
But here they are now, starting with No 10:
10. Willow & Oz from Buffy
What a power couple they were, I’m sure they could take over the world if they wanted to with their witch abilities and werewolf skills. Such a great mix of a geeky girl and a calm guy. Even though the show is like really old now it’s still my favorite TV show in the world and Willow & Oz are still one of my favorite ships ever.
9. Lorelai & Luke from Gilmore Girls
Another favorite TV Show of mine. I used to watch it with my mom every day after school when the show premiered in Germany. I was like 13 or something, I can’t really remember, but Lorelai and Luke have such an amazing relationship. Starting off as close friends and ending up as one of the greatest couples in TV history. Those two are just meant to be together and I can’t even tell you how much I cried when they’ve finally tied the knot in the Gilmore Girls Revival.
8. Simon & Baz from Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
Rainbow Rowell writs such great romances but SnowBaz is by far one of my favorites of all the couples she’s created. I love their secret obsession with each other and all of the tension between them. It makes the romance even sweeter. Also the whole “not wanting to admit that they secretly love each other” was the cutest thing. I can’t wait for the sequel. There’s supposed to be one, right? I think Rainbow Rowell said something like that on her twitter but I could be wrong though haha
7. Beth & Daryl from The Walking Dead
I know they’ve never been a real couple but they were close to being one, at least in my opinion. I love how Daryl changed because of Beth and how Beth changed because of Daryl. Their episodes together still are my favorites and I’m still so sad and crushed about what happened in Season 4. I never thought I’d ship Daryl with anyone tho since he’s always been somewhat of a loner and it never even occurred to me that maybe he could fall in love with someone – no matter if guy or girl – but when Beth and Daryl bonded I was like HELL YES I SHIP IT!
6. Mark & Kieran from Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare
Yes I know many of you don’t like Kieran for the things he’s done but I love his character; I love his character so much and damn, I was so surprised when – all of a sudden – he and Mark kissed. I swear I didn’t expect that to happen but it was great and romantic and I think they make such a great power couple and I hope they’ll find a way to work things out because I totally ship them.
5. Ten & Rose from Doctor Who
Ten and Rose always make my heart melt. I honestly think that Ten was in love with Rose too, I mean wasn’t it obvious how much he cared for her and that maybe he was just too scared to admit his feelings because he just knew that it wouldn’t work out? Ten is my all time favorite doctor and Rose for sure my favorite companion and those two together make such a great match. I love them both to pieces and whenever I think of that one episode I just want to cuddle up in bed and cry. Worst episode ever (but also beautiful, in a sad way though)
4. Danny & Miller from Shades of Gray by Brooke McKinley
I just recently came across Brooke McKinleys novel and fell in love with Danny & Miller immediately. Their relationship is so honest and real and soo sweet and I just love both of them so much. Also some of their scenes are like really sexy, pretty hot actually and I just can’t even – they are perfect for each other.
3. D & Jack from Zero at the Bone by Jane Seville
Another book I just recently discovered while looking for some diverse/gay romances and let me tell you, D and Jack are GOALS. I love them, I love them even more than I love Danny & Miller and I never thought this was possible. Their relationship is everything and the fact how much they changed for each other is so sweet and the cutest thing ever and the way how protective D is over Jack always makes my heart melt. If you haven’t read that book yet and you’re totally into crime, gay romance and diverse characters – read it like right now. It’s mind blowing.
2. Connor & Oliver from How To Get Away With Murder
When I first started watching How to get away with murder I would have never thought that I’d find my second favorite OTP. Connor and Oliver are like a dream match. I know, I know they are currently having some problems but you know, their whole lives are kind of messed up so what do you expect? These two are just meant to be together and I ship them so hard, I really hope they can work things out because I really really want them to get back together – for real I mean.
1. Magnus & Alec from The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare
And my number one OTP is – surprise surprise – Magnus and Alec from the Mortal Instruments Series. They are both such great characters, especially Magnus, and I’m so obsessed with them like together and individually and I’m definitely one of the craziest shipper of Malec (as you may know already haha) I’ve been on board with this ship ever since I read City of Bones when it first came out in Germany in 2006 I think? I don’t know, I can’t remember but it’s been a very long time and they’ve been my No 1 OTP ever since. I mean how in the world could you not ship these two? They are perfect. Yeah they may seem like an unlikely couple but I think that exactly this makes their relationship so special and I love that it’s an interracial couple, we definitely need more of them in books. Also all the Malec scenes on the TV show give me life.
